UGC NET i.e. National Eligibility Test is the national examination to determine the eligibility for the award of Assistant Professor and JRF i.e. Junior Research Fellowship in Indian Universities and Colleges.
This exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency for eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor in 83 subjects. This exam is an online computer based test in CBT mode.

There is no age limit for Assistant Professor in UGC NET December 2022. While the maximum age limit for JRF has been kept up to 31 years. The age in this recruitment will be calculated considering 1 December 2022 as the base.
Apart from this, OBC, EWS, SC, ST and reserved categories have been given relaxation in the maximum age limit as per the rules of the government.
The educational qualification for UGC NET December 2022 has been kept as Master's degree or equivalent in the concerned subject. Candidates who are in the final year of Master's degree this year can also apply.
For general and EWS category minimum 55% marks in master's degree. While other reserved categories are given a relaxation of 5%.

Two papers will be conducted for UGC NET December 2022. Both the papers will be held together and no time will be given between the two. In this, the first paper will be common for all the students and the second paper will be of the concerned subject.
The questions in both the papers will be OMR sheet based objective type. There will be 50 questions in the first paper. Whereas in the second paper there will be 100 questions. Each question will be of two marks.
Thus the total paper will be of 300 marks. There is no negative marking in this exam. A total of 3 hours will be given for both the papers. The paper will be available in both Hindi and English language.
