What does it mean to join the Territorial Army?
After the Regular Indian Army, the Indian Territorial Army (TA) is the second line of defense. The Territorial Army's current mission is to relieve the regular army of static responsibilities and aid the civil government in responding to natural disasters and necessary upkeep.
The Territorial Army currently has over 40,000 members. Officers and Junior Commissioned Administrators are open to joining the Territorial Army (JCO). Ex-Servicemen and civilians are suitable for the Territorial Army Officers (Non-Departmental) program.

Selection Procedures for the Territorial Army
The following is the procedure for selecting officers, civilians, and ex-servicemen:
Officer Civilian Selection Process in the Territorial Army
Candidates who have successfully applied for the exam are invited to a screening session.
The screening consists of a written exam followed by an interview conducted by the relevant Territorial Army Group Headquarters' Preliminary Interview Board.
For final selection, successful candidates must pass examinations administered by a Service Selection Board (SSB) and a Medical Board.
The number of male and female positions available is determined on organizational needs.
Ex-Selection Servicemen's Process in the Territorial Army
The Army Headquarters Selection Board (ASB) in the Additional Directorate General Territorial Army screens ex-service officers.
An interview process will be used to select ex-Armed Forces Commissioned Officers.
For conclusive picking, the Ex-Service Officers are subjected to a medical reevaluation at the Armed Forces Clinic, tracked by a police confirmation.
