• The annual income of the candidate's family from all sources should not exceed Rs. 72000.
• The bride and groom must be of minimum legal age of marriage. The age of the girl should be above 18 years and the age of the boy should be above 21 years.
• All applicants must belong to Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
• No member of the candidate's family should be employed in any State or Central Government. Services.
• Financial assistance is not applicable in case of remarriage (full marriage). However, widows can avail the scheme in case of remarriage.
• Orphan girls who do not belong to BPL category are also eligible and can get assistance under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Scheme.
