• Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever grading system is followed) in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign University
• Apart from fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR. (Exemption from net will be given as per clauses (ii) and (iii) of the General Note at the last section of this document.
• PhD degree obtained from a foreign university/institute. Ranking in the top 500 in the World University Rankings (at any time) by one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
